Booking & Redemption Platform
Customer-facing booking, gift card redemption, and seamless transaction workflows for Anchor.
The problem & context
Anchor, an operations and reservations platform, serving customer booking and redemption experiences.
Architecture
The React booking SDK is the core engine for bookings, gift cards, passes, transfer, and split, embedded in host channels such as WordPress sites, Android apps, and other websites; a React dashboard serves operators. Both call a GraphQL API resolved by AWS Lambda functions over DynamoDB. Booking requests are queued in Amazon SQS and processed by a worker Lambda, Amazon SNS publishes confirmations, and the SDK polls booking status until tickets are confirmed. Amazon S3 serves the SDK bundle and assets, CloudFormation provisions the stack, and CloudWatch captures logs, metrics, and alarms. Frontend and SDK caching support a smoother checkout experience.

Implementation & my contribution
- Developed Gift Card and Passes redemption and Manage My Booking capabilities.
- Built transfer and split functionalities for more than 2,000 clients.
- Integrated Algolia city search and AWS SQS messaging; optimized DynamoDB queries.
- Upgraded Node.js from v14 to v20 and implemented SDK and frontend caching.
Outcome
1,500+ new transactions within six months; transfer and split improvements served 2,000+ clients and improved transaction speed by 40%.
